Ok, so its been officially 5 months since that last time i've written on here! I know what makes a blog successful is the constant updating the readers of whats going on right? who likes to look at a website and see that its even been a week since the last update. Well I do have some new post coming very soon all fashion and beauty related. I'll be talking about exercise, hair care, skin care and of course makeup! Why? well one of the things that I will focus on when I do enter a pageant is not only sustainable living but healthy living and that includes using natural products for my hair, skin and what I eat. Well thats the mini- update for today however, please check back as soon as possible to see whats new and my new post!

Good Evening all,
So last time we talked or I wrote I def. wrote about my new commitment to pageants and finally getting ready to compete in 2 pageants this year or last year 2010. Well so life been interesting, I started a new job, moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland and now i'm trying to get adjusted to the life of being on my own and away form home as an adult. I must say its been great, I just wish I could finally follow through, with my pageant dreams, and I def. have a lot cooking up interns of visions for 2011. I am sure this year will be me moving toward the next level!! I'm excited and I hope that you'll be with me for the ride.

Hey yall,

I hope all is well! I have some exciting news, Now I actually don't remember if I told everyone that I finally decided that I would enter a pageant or which pageant it is in particular! However, I did the take first step!!! I went and got my headshots made last week!! Now I'll tell you think I'm already beginning to see how much all of this is going to cost me!! Have no fear I'm am sure that with dedication and some great sponsorships I'll be able to really make this work. So hear's my plan for preparation, I plan on entering several pageants thorughout this year!!! The first one is on Novermber 4th 2010 and the second one is in March of 2011!!! Now I won't say the names of the pageants until I know for sure that I have been accepted!!! But wish me luck applications are going in very soon!!! As soo as I find out about which pageants I have been selected to participate in I will share with you all!!! In addition, I should be getting my photos back in a Few day's now more like next week. So when those come in I will also make sure to share those with you as well!!! Well I hope everyone is having a fabulous summer and enjoying the beginning of the pageant season!!!

So when I started this blog it was to start competing right??? Well so here it is I am announcing that I have decided that I am now ready to compete in a Pageant!!! Which pageant we still don't know I am working on a few applications, and getting some photos together!!! When I hear back about acceptance we will talk about which pageant I"m competing in and my platform!!! YES!! I'm really excited in addition, I also would like to take the time on some post to discuss, beauty, fitness, nutrition, and service projects. Well, I want to First apologize for not updating in a Long While, and There is really no good excuse for it but school. But since the summer months are coming up, i'll be soon Re-start Training, and Blogging. We will also be actively following Contestants, Pageants, and Current Title Holders!! I can't wait to take you all through this journey on my way to attaining the crown!!

Excerise-- The Update

Ok so I don't have much to really talk about interms of Getting pageant ready but what I have learned that inorder to have that wonderful body that most people talk about for pageants you have to work out all the time. Ok so we have established that right??? well I thought that since I am taking this exercise class, and I have a Wii fit and i used is sparingly that i should use it in conjunction to my physical conditioning class. and so I brought Wii active as it is a program that has a more intense workout then the typical Wii Fit workout. What is did not realize is that you should be careful about what days you choose to use the program. So i decided to do the 30 day fitness challenge, which i enjoy it includes, aerobics, boxing, running, and other various exercises for a short 30min workout that is sure to energize you and provide you with a amazing workout. But I being the smart person that I am decided at 3am about 3 weeks ago now on a Monday night going into tuesday that I would use my Wii Active! Well that was a Horrible move, not only did i get a Great workout but I then forgot that I had my wonderful Gym class at 8AM !!! So yeah i completely overworked every muscle in my lower body, and after my class i could not sit stand or walk for about 7 days. I am usually the crazy person who loves the burn of a great workout but this was soo painful that I literally had to take off for a weak and let my muscles heal or I could have done some serious damage, and that would have been counter productive to my workout plan. I also have to say this, I am a very small framed women, so my plan in my workout scheme is not to loose weight, I am very happy with how much I weight, I am simply working out to tone my body. In addition, i just recently learned in my gym class that working out at least 30 minutes a day is a productive way to limit and lesson the effects of heart disease, high blood pressure which can lead to stroke and many other illnesses in addition to healthy eating. It is also a great way to reduce stress, increase focus and insure mental and physical health. It is quite relaxing to see how much 30 minutes of exercise can do to really help keep the body in top shape. I will begin to soon upload my current workout plans. and I am still looking for a photographer to take my initial set of photo's. Well I hope all is well and we will chat soon!!!

Hey all,
so I have to say that the gym class I am taking is a great class as it teaches you how to use the equipment in the gym for those exercise novices and how to get an awesome workout and the maximum workout. the other component of the class, teaches about health and fitness and the benefits of working out. I am really hoping that I learn as much as possible about healthy living, and exercise so that I may apply it to my workout routine as I begin to prepare for my Pageant in 2011.

Ok so I'm stting in my room BBMing ( BlackBerry Messenging ) one of my really good friends from college Angel ( http://www.ilovepageantry.com/) , and it was AWESOME, the pageant was wonderful, and as the competition went on from swimsuit, evening gown to talent, the competition got stiffer and stiffer. At one point I got soo nervous you would have thought that either I was competiting our one of my friends was, but no I was engrossed in the drama and the magic of the pageant.

Each of the 53 Women did an amazing job and I am inspiried by all of them that when you have a dream you have to go after it!!! You can't hold back, and when you hold back you miss out on opportunities and Blessings! Well your probally asking what am I talking about? Right? Well I first have to say Congratulations to Miss America 2010 Caressa Carmeron, as she was the one who really deserved the Crown tonight!!! But you never know if she had not decided to compete in the Arlington Virgina Local pageant she never would have been Miss Virginia and she never would have had the opportunity to touch so many lives and then fullfill every young womens dream of becoming Miss America 2010!!! So that is what I mean, that is why I can not give up on this idea of one day being a true beauty queen, weather its Miss USA, Miss International or Miss America. So with that I will sign off for tonight, but I will use tonight as the motiviation for continuing on my quest to the crown!!!

Ok, so two things, the Miss America Pageant takes place this Saturday at 8pm est on TLC. I am completely excited this is always my favorite time of year!!!! Secondly, the workout is not going too well, my fitness practice and theory class, isn't teaching me anything, so I will be going back to the Wii Fitt Routine and listing out my weekly routines shortly. Well have to run, and i'll update soon!!!

Hey all,
So this is my second week of Class thus my second weekd of my physical training and Umm i have to say that me and the Gym are no longer Friends. Why?? well one I hate Getting up early and my day is way to packed to go to the gym later so i only have one choice, go to the gym in the morning right??? yup thats where I suck at times. I tend to stay up really later and eat really bad foods and ten I don't get up in the morning. I am sure the only thing that is going to help me is that This semester I have a Fitness and Theory Class that meets Tuesday and thursday for Gym class and a Nutrition Class on Wednesdays. So This sound Ideal right, the perfect thing to get me where I want to be well ITs also at 8am. Yes 8 O'clock in the morning, which means i have to be awake and gettting ready at 6am.ummm yeah not going to happen well i guess it has to happen cause I'm taking that class and want to do well in it. So now that i have rambleed on my about my gym struggle, I am going to reveal my new fitness plan, I am going to get up at 6am everyday monday through friday, and do Wii Yoga in the morning every morning, then monday wednesday and friday Im also going to do Wii calistentics. This will be my routine in addition to my tuesday and Thursday Workouts. Well see how it goes, My over all fitness goal is to tone my body for the pageant and I have an entire year!!! Well I need to head off to bed so I can get up for this 8am class. I'll give you all more details on the work out plan as I continue to develop it.

Hey Everyone!!! Please Help Haiti

So I feel lIke it has been forever, since I last updated, So let me apologize to my followers for the delay. I have orrifcally started my last semester as an undergraduate at Penn State University, this will be an interesting one. I have two Gym classes, a Ice Skating class and a nutrition and Fitness class. I am not sure which one to take, I feel that ice skating will be fun and allow me to be girly, but the fiteness class will teach me all of the things I need to know to get into pageant shape, but its at 8:00 am twice a week, huge down side.

I orginaly was going to talk about the history of pageantry, and even the idea where every little girl wants to be a "princess" and a "Queen". I think i'll address this next week, it should be fun. I have been reflecting on the weeks events and as a humanitarian the issue of the earthquake in haiti, has had me really distressed. I am torn I want to pick up my stuff, get on a plan and begin in the relief efforts, So I will most likely think of a project to get involved in back at school. At this point since i'm not a Doctor, Engineer or a search and Rescue person, I will wait it out to see where I fit in. But I encourage everyone to really thake the Time to give to organizations, that will be doing work within haiti.

Currently I am the Pennsylvania NAACP Youth and College Division President, and as President I have been tasked with the responsibility of raising 1000.000 for the State of Pennsylvania. The organizations overall gaol is the initial 100,000 nationally so that we can being with out initial efforts of the humanitarian efforts. So if your looking for an organization to give to the NAACP and put unit 28A1 as the unit affiliation.

New Year: New Me My Quest to Becoming a Beauty Queen! and a Year of Growth and Development!!!

Good Evening all,
So it is January 1st 2010 and I have whole heartdly made the choice that I would make this year, My year of growth and accomplishments. Now many people make New Years Resolutions, and we all know that Resolutions only last about the first 6 weeks of the new year and then we all begin to put them to the wayside. Well this time I am Committing myself to these principles to help me accomplish my goals. My goals are very simple and they are all tied into winning the 2011 Title of Miss Pennsylvania International. As I work towards my goal I will be tackling other areas of my life, such as physical fitness, healthy eating, financial stability, Graduation and a career.

In the past with the few other pageants that I have entered but then withdrew my participation because of fear and finances, I am determined to not let that be my hinderence this time. For the pageant that is taking palce march of 2010, I decided last minuite that i could not afford a coach or my wardrobe or even the preparation. So I figure i'll give my self a year to get everything in order. in the Upcoming months we will discuss, the Dresses, makeup, Pictures, headshots and all of the things needed to be successful. But all also need help from everyone I know, I'll need help with interview questions, pertaining to current events, my platform and random fun ones. So my next blog, which will be next Friday the 9th of January will feature some pictures of my as well as the infamous budget. Well I hope all is well and talk with you all soon.

Good Afternoon Pageant and Non Pageant world!

My Name is Kirin Kennedy and I am currently a Student At the Pennsylvania State University, where I study Geography with a Minor in climatology. but ever since I was a little girl I have always been drawing to the ideas of Modeling and pageantry. My First Pageant was back in 2003 I competed for National American Miss Texas Teen. Where although I worked hard I was completely not prepared for the world of pageantry and all of the nuances that it involves. At the time i figured that If a young girl was confident, well spoken and fairly good looking then they stood a good chance in the pageant. I was dead wrong, I had no clue how intimidating the pageant world really is. From the wardrobe, to the hair and makeup, We literally walked into the pageant thinking that it was going to be a cake walk. When we got there I was excited, I received my sash, (which I still have hung up in my room) my mini tiara and my welcome packet, I could not believe it. It was soo cool, I felt that I finally was going to be the "queen" that every little girl dreams of being. But lets just say in a long story short kinda of way that everything I did that weekend was really wrong, form my hair and makeup to how I answered my interview questions. However, The experience taught me a lot about myself. I will say I did cry when I found out that I did not even place in the pageant. But I learned that I loved being on stage, and selling my self. So I became Hooked ever since then I have wanted to compete in pageants but have been to scared to do so. I have enrolled in 4 pageants since the 2003 pageant, National American Miss Pennsylvania Teen, And then the Miss Pennsylvania USA Pageant Twice and contemplated running for Miss Pennsylvania International 2010 but backed out last minute due to fears and monetary cost. So for 2010 I have decided that this is my year!! and not only will I compete My goal is to Win a title! This is way I have started this Blog as a quest to becoming a Pageant Queen!
